Unique and powerful individuals joining forces for inspiration and motivation

I have been thinking lately about how most of us don't take the time to be still. We rush around and do our things. We work, we spend time with our family, and take part in activites in our daily lives. When do we really take the time to sit down and be still?

For many people I know it's so easy to just keep busy and keep doing whatever it is that we do. I think many are afraid of stillness, afraid of feelings and thoughts that might surface. We dont want to be confronted with feelings or thoughts that might make us feel uncomfortable. Would you agree or do you see it differently?

For many years I have been writing notes in a little book. I have been writing down my thoughts, my plans, my dreams and my prayers. At times I have taken the time to be still and just wait for that inner voice. This experience has been such a blessing, to really feel what's in my heart and to find clearity and inner peace. I know those who meditate know what this is like, to find that inner peace and to hear that inner voice.

We all have it in us, but most of us don't take the time to really connect to our inner self. As for me, I belive we are more than just flesh and blood. I believe we are spiritual beings as well, and through prayer, meditation and stillness we can connect to a higher power.

I would like to hear what you have experienced through silence, prayer and meditation. How do you experience life as a spiritual being? Do you find the answers you are waiting for when beeing in a state of stillness, prayer and meditation?

Would you like to share some of your own experiences and tell what impact this has on your life?

I look forward to hear from you.

Love and peace,

Gitte

it is writen "Be still and know that i am God" psalms 46:10
when the storms in life are raging over us, God wants us to know that He is still in control, when we realize we dont have all the answers, God wants us to know we can trust him, because He does, when we realize that we are inadecuate or lacking to find a solution to any situation, when feelings are overwhelming us and we cant find our way, God wants us to know we are only to be still and trust Him like a child trust in his father. You see...to Him our probems are not as important as WE are, He is the God of the impossibles, but the one thing He wont do, is force you to believe in Him, to trust in Him, to love Him, this most come from you....freewill, and that is what He cares about, YOU and your relationship with Him. and if you know Him, then is easy to stand in awe and be still while we let Him show us the amazing transforming power of His love,He is our redemer, our provider, our confort......if we let him.

Gitte, it's interesting that you said, to write down your thoughts, plans and dreams means to have the clarity about what you want in life and i realised that most of ppl actually don't have clarity about it. It's not about to say "i want to be succesful" for example, it's about define what is to be succesful in "your life", it's about to have your own vision and work on it as route or plan. Is it easy? may not much but if we don't have it how it would be easier to find solutions for our problems or decide between options or search for next step which approaches me to my own vision.
All this implies an space and time in your daily routine, be methodical and be focused to establish your vision and review your own advances. Is it easy? trust me! not much.....I'm just starting on it and i can say it's not easy to follow !! =)...but its amazing and necessary !
Meditation really helps on it, I have started to do it in Octuber, 2007 and its quite helpful to find yourself and connect you with God, to be focused and to improve your concentration. I have been practising raja yoga, this kind of medidation implies recognized yourself as a soul or spirit and from that state to get a connection with God, bringing to your mind just positive thoughts and feelings and then reflects them on your actions.
So., when do we really take the time to sit down and be still?...its not easy but just depends of us, depends of how determinated we are to have a life with sense and enlighted by God. I believe God have a plan for me and if something unexpected happens i know it has a reason and i believe deeply that then God makes me realised why that happens.
But if I dont make my best steps, how do i help God with his plan ?!!!, I dont like to think in my life like to be a boat that moves with the waves of the sea, I prefer to do my best with all that God wants I deal with: good and bad, easy and difficult ! , happy or sad! ... =)

Gloria

Thank you, Gloria, for sharing your experiences and your thoughts.

I believe we all learn through our experiences in life, and as we all aim to be wiser and smarter and dig into ourselves, then we can see how we move forward. By planning and writing down our thoughts, feelings and our goals, we will become more conscious and also more focused. I think it's all about getting to know ourselves and to use our potential to the best of our abilities.

When we can accept ourselves for who we are and belive in ourselves, then we will find peace inside and many of those things that have stopped us from going forward suddenly becomes tiny and even dissapear, because there has been a change in our mind and in our view of ourselves and life. With spritual insight as well, we become even more powerful.

With peace and hope,

Hi Gitte, It's been an unusual winter here in eastern canada, More snow than we had in years and trust me, there was plenty of time to be still. I have spent many days in struggle with my inner being at times wondering if i was sane. This harsh winter has cornered me to my silence and an occational contact with some people on the net that were spiritually hungry, so i would jump this opportunity and let the spirit show me how well it could flow through me at time of need. At one point i felt the spirit tingle through me all the way to the finger tips as i wrote and oh such a joyful feeling. I had a great discussion with someone about native american beliefs and i was explaining the symbolism and illustrations we use for teachings. I explained that nature is a silent teacher and that the forest is one of the greatest cathedrals that one can walk into. Jesus spent alot of times in the wilderness and one can understand why. Its a great place to escape if your looking for reality and away from the philosophy of man and his forever hunger to program people into his own liking. I have found the creator wants every individual to unfold to their own uniqueness and become who they were intended to be. I have a very hard time with man trying to mould people into their own liking. I have a great belief that we unfold with time. My spirit is my only true companie when im alone and i express my deepest to him/her of my emotions and concerns, Sometimes pain. I have little trust in man cause i have seen my so called best friends or spiritual people turn away. My teachings are deep with experience and i seldom write like this. I do not quote from other people. I have my own teacher and not too many see him. You may find me hiding behind humour at times. But i do have my silent and still moments." When I close my eyes, relax in sitting posture on a chair or on the floor, after a few minutes, thoughts begin to slow down. Breathing becomes slower and easy. Than a state begins to unfold from within me that speaks of spaciousness and silence. I have been meditating since the age 19. So meditation has become a natural process. Before I use to use all kinds of tools and techniques, but now I just close my eyes and relax. There is so much beauty within us. Inwardly we are all multi-millionares. What we have inside of us is priceless. When you recognise that you have GodForce Energy within you, you also know that it is in everyone. Than one begins to see people not through the interpretation of the mind but through the eyes of Soul. From the Soul's perspective one 'Sees' Love everywhere. How simple to just close ones eyes and relax and to taste the joy of ones inner being. We have everything we need. If you seek to know, look within your self. YOU are the answer to all of your prayers. Than the external world becomes a reflection of the divinity that is within you. May these words be of service to others.

Bright Blessings to you all.

You are very right it's hard for people nowadays to be still for a second and it's surprising to know the work stillnes doess . it's helps alot. i guess it's what the world is turning into we rush things .
i meditate, it's wonderful the way it's as helped me sofar.
what you said is right most people can't be still because(1) they don't want to refelct back on the bad past (2) they know they are on the wrong track but they don't want to start again. which eventualy leads to unsatisfaction with their lives later on in life. stillness, meditation, prayer frees the mind and it's refreshing to feel the power of reconnection..

Staisfaction in life under the sun will nerver occur until there is a meaningful connection with the living above the sun.

Thank you Josef for sharing your experience and your insight.

"Self consciousness is the starting point to change. When we know and understand our feelings and thoughts, our values and attitude, only then can we deliberately start changes in our lives."

Gitte,

In many of my discussion groups, I often remark that most people spend too much time talking and not enough time listening. We ask on so many levels but often do not listen for the answers or guidance. I believe that talking and television and other such distractions are ploys that we use to prevent the guidance that we seek. It is the guidance that we know will at times ask us to change something within ourselves. Each of us knows that the keys to unlocking that which we seek lies inside and for many of us that is the scariest journey of all.

I recommend meditation to everyone that asks for the secret to establishing a more spiritual lifestyle. I explain that meditation does not always mean sitting in a room somewhere but includes any time that we spend "open". I describe being "open" as being in the act of "not doing". I explain that meditation can be done while walking or gardening or any activity where thinking is at a minimum. I explain that the benefit of establishing this relationship with your Inner Being is what becomes an easy conduit to the guidance that we all seek.

I spend a great deal of my time in silence. Perhaps I missed my calling as a monk! haha! I spend a lot of time listening and trying to visualizing the source of sounds and the makeup. I believe that this practice allows me to project my mind outside and expand my awareness. I also try to spend at least 20 minutes meditating each morning before hopping out of bed. On those days when I have a great meditation, my day runs incredibly smooth. I get all of the green lights, parking spaces and people seem to seek out my presence. Those are the days when I feel close contact with my inner being. It is as if a part of my Inner Being is somehow closer to the surface. I know find that I can get answers to my questions and much of the time I have a running dialogue with my Inner Being. It is like being on a team and having your partner in perfect harmony!

Blessings
Claudius
